You want peace? Start acting like it.

I wrote about this the other day, but Israel has  to slow down its aggressive streak for the rest of the world to side with it.  We all know that Hamas is a bad, bad neighbor. No question. But Israel is acting a tad bit like the neighborhood bully.  As I said the other day, “Israel, get your head out of your ass. You want peace, back down a bit.” Continuing to force the issue by building in zones where both sides claim ownership, is a bit like saying, "...come on, let's fight."

I am not the only one saying this.

Here is the excerpt from CNN about Secretary of State Clinton’s remarks.

Washington (CNN) -- U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called on Israel to reconsider plans to build thousands of homes in its occupied territory, saying it will set back efforts to bring about a two-state solution between the Israelis and Palestinians.

Clinton's comments Friday followed news that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu authorized the construction of the new homes, a move widely viewed as retaliatory after the Palestinians won a United Nations bid to recognize their claim to become a "non-member observer state."

"In light of today's announcement, let me reiterate that this administration — like previous administrations — has been very clear with Israel that these activities set back the cause of a negotiated peace," Clinton said in remarks delivered at the Saban Center for Middle East Policy in Washington.

Peace will only happen with the Palestinians and Arab states get rid of this notion that Israel should be pushed into the sea AND when Israel gets rid of the notion that it can do anything it damn well please with the Palestinians.

There are two sides to this coin.
